"教養教育科目の心理学の受講生270名を対象に,80項目からなる日本版STCBを実施し,心理学に関連する知識の誤り(misconception about psychology)を調査した。その結果,80項目の中で,50%以上の誤りが認められた項目数は37にのぼり,平均誤答率は45.8%であった。これまでの報告と同様に,小さな心理学者(新入生)は入学時点において多くの誤りを身につけていることが示された。また項目の内容を領域ごとに分析すると,感覚知覚の領域の誤答率が高いことが示された。これらの誤答率に対して,被調査者の諸特性すなわち所属学部,心理学への興味関心の度合いは影響を与えていないことも示された。加えて,心理学をすでに受講した経験のある2年生以上の学部生115名(I群)についても同様の検査を実施した。平均誤答率のみならず誤りの多い項目内容についても,新入生と類似の結果が得られた。心理学の受講経験が心理学に関連する知識の誤りの是正に十分に生かされていないことが示された。さらに心理学の受講経験を持たない2年生以上の学部生43名(II群)にも同様の調査を実施した。その結果,I,II群の結果は類似しており,前記の結果をさらに基づけるところとなった。また,確信度の評定を導入したことにより,誤答率に加えて誤答のタイプに関する情報を利用できるようになった。これらの結果は,教養教育科目の心理学の今後の授業改革に貴重な提言をもたらすものである。",
