At the first stage of her counseling process, she had a negative attitude toward her personal past, present and future. At the second stage, she had looked back over her own history and accepted a negative side of her personality. At the third stage, she had the most positive image of herself and had built a new ego-identity gradually. Japanese culture has the characteristic that people have cared for each other and sometimes have manipulated themselves to keep a sence of the unconscious unity.
