We also have conducted guidance for the study of Japanese language and observed the students' progress after enrollment. Ogawa・Maruyama・Okuno (2004) reported the actual condition of Japanese proficiency, and discussed the ideal form of Liberal Arts Japanese language courses that fit the realities of undergraduate students' language abilities. This paper reports the trials which has been conducted after Ogawa・Maruyama・Okuno (2004) and proposes some measures to clarify the problems in their early phases in order to maintain the quality of undergraduate education. It begins with a report of a trial of the Japanese Placement Test in the 2005 academic year, and the report of the Japanese Intermediate classes of General Education.
