Recently we heard imported lemons were also treated with 2, 4-D（2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid）. So we measured 2,4-D in lemons by the GC/MS-SIM method as follows. Surface of lemons（10g）were sliced and soaked in methanol（5ml） and formic acid （1ml）more than 24 hours. Extract solutions （2ml） were added concentrated sulfuric acid （5μl）for esterification, and benzene（1ml）for extract 2, 4-D methyl estel. The layers of benzene were analyzed by GC/MS-SIM（m.u. 233.985 and 235.982）.
