A}, month = {Jan}, note = {application/pdf, In this paper, the stable crack growth of three dimensional surface crack has been analyzed by the Line Spring Method. The elastic-plastic stiffness of a line spring element is evaluated by the complementary energy of the single edge notched specimen. The COA criterion is used for the crack growth analysis and the change of the surface crack configuration is analyzed with increasing applied stress. The penetration loads are estimated for the various surface crack configurations and are compared with those the net section stress criterion. The qualitative agreement is obtained between two results.
