 note = {application/pdf, Laurel forests are found within the precinct of the Sounji-Temple. They were identified as Ardisio-Castanopsietum sieboldii by Fujiwara phytosociologically (1972). Based upon Br.-Bl. (1964) and Belt-transect methods (Tatewaki, 1952), the authors investigated the most typical community thereof. We also conducted tree census and flora census. In consequence, it turned out that those forests were mainly dominated by Castanopsis cuspidata var. sieboldii, Quercus salicina and Q. glauca and their process of regeneration is considered to be active and stabilized.},
