The study was carried out in October 25th-November 1st, 1973 (KT-73-15), and September 18th-24th, 1974 (KT-74-14), on board the R. V. TANSEI MARU of the Ocean Research Institute, University of Tokyo. Masses of the drifting seaweeds were taken by a large coarse tow-net and a large hand net for examination at stations 1-5 (Fig. 1). The occurrence of the drifting algal masses was also observed in the course of the cruise. The algae found in their masses examined are shown in Table I. In this region the drifting algal masses also afford a base of the characteristic fauna with some of littoral, pelagic and pseudobenthic types; furthermore, the drifting algae and other objects may harbor some truly and temporarily planktonic formes, such as calanoid copepods, ghost prawns Lucifer, and larvae of decapod and stomatopod crustaceans etc., which were commonly occurred in the materials collected from them.}, pages = {7--11}, title = {相模湾および駿河湾における流れ藻とそれに生息する動物(予報)}, volume = {22}, year = {1975} }
