The intentions of evacuees to re-enter vacated buildings under simultaneous independent conditions (e.g., cold and rainy weather) were investigated along with features that attracted their selective attention to establish effective emergency plans for universities/colleges where hazardous materials are handled and stored. A questionnaire survey was administered to 265 people at a national university in Japan. The question items queried risk perception, intentions to return to vacated buildings, knowledge of hazardous materials, and demographics. The survey results indicated that several combined situations significantly increased the respondents’ intentions to reenter evacuated buildings: cold and rainy weather, personal belongings left in a building that was severely damaged, and persons with disabilities left behind in a severely damaged building. A co-occurrence network analysis performed along with correspondence analyses revealed that people who were aware of chemical hazards paid greater attention to gas release and fire events. Conversely, those who were not as knowledgeable merely directed their selective attention to items easily conceived in the event of seismic occurrences (e.g., footing, broken window, helmet, etc.). Correlation analysis demonstrated that (i) the knowledge of hazardous materials was not significantly correlated with intentions to reenter, and (ii) a negative relationship existed between risk perception variables and intentions.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_2_publisher_35":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"Elsevier"}]},"item_2_relation_13":{"attribute_name":"DOI","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_type":"isVersionOf","subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"info:doi/10.1016/j.ijdrr.2021.102150","subitem_relation_type_select":"DOI"}}]},"item_2_relation_44":{"attribute_name":"関係URI","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_name":[{"subitem_relation_name_text":"https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ijdrr.2021.102150"}],"subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ijdrr.2021.102150","subitem_relation_type_select":"DOI"}}]},"item_2_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"2212-4209","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_2_text_4":{"attribute_name":"著者所属","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_value":"Department of Materials Science and Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Yokohama National University"},{"subitem_text_value":"Division for Environment, Health and Safety, The University of Tokyo & Institute of Advanced Sciences/Center for Creation of Symbiosis Society with Risk"}]},"item_2_version_type_18":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_version_resource":"http://purl.org/coar/version/c_ab4af688f83e57aa","subitem_version_type":"AM"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Yusuke, Koshiba"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"33129","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"},{"nameIdentifier":"60419273","nameIdentifierScheme":"e-Rad","nameIdentifierURI":"https://kaken.nii.ac.jp/ja/search/?qm=60419273"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Jo, Nakayama"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"37772","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"},{"nameIdentifier":"10804932","nameIdentifierScheme":"e-Rad","nameIdentifierURI":"https://kaken.nii.ac.jp/ja/search/?qm=10804932"}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2023-04-15"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"Manuscript.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"622.6 kB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"Manuscript.pdf","url":"https://ynu.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/11197/files/Manuscript.pdf"},"version_id":"47279e18-47f6-4386-aecb-44871906d759"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"Post-evacuation behavior","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Major earthquake","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Unsafe action","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Return decision-making","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Text mining","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Emergency management","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"journal article","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"Intentions of university students and staff members to re-enter chemical storage buildings immediately after a major earthquake: A case study in Japan","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Intentions of university students and staff members to re-enter chemical storage buildings immediately after a major earthquake: A case study in Japan"}]},"item_type_id":"2","owner":"3","path":["496"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2021-04-08"},"publish_date":"2021-04-08","publish_status":"0","recid":"11197","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Intentions of university students and staff members to re-enter chemical storage buildings immediately after a major earthquake: A case study in Japan"],"weko_creator_id":"3","weko_shared_id":3},"updated":"2023-06-20T18:07:24.127429+00:00"}
