In the wide zones of coastal lowlands in Sarawak, there are typical well-developed peat swamp forests. This paper presents a phytosociological description of peat swamp forests with a community table. The study site, Naman, is about 10 km south of Sibu, Sarawak, East Malaysia. The forests were summarized as a Ilex hydroglauca-Cephalomappa paudicola community in accordance with the concepts and methods of the Zürich-Montpellier School.
