Information on vegetation patterns is an important for land preservation and management. To simplify the vegetation survey process, we explored the potential for using a balloon as a platform for aerial photography. By this method, large-scale vegetation changes can be detected in a short period of time. The aerial photograph and associated vegetation analysis were carried out at Shiga Heights in Nagano Prefecture, Japan.
